Hello! My name is Jacob, and I'm currently a 2nd year Ph.D. student studying data science and education policy at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. My research interests include teacher recruitment and retention, pathways to the principalship, and the influence of social norms/biases on student and staff outcomes. Specifically, my research borrows methods from machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and econometrics to analyze educational inequality and predict educational outcomes. 

Prior to my doctoral studies, I have worked as a full-stack software engineer in app development and completed research at Duke University and UCLA.
